Banana Republic scores

imageimageimageSo, while I was at the mall finally doing my Christmas returns, I wandered into Banana Republic…and boy, am I glad I did.

I found a few goodies that had been in and out of my online shopping cart several times this holiday season.  I walked away with this sequin pencil skirt, fringe top and frilly sweater.  All were on super-duper sale.  I can’t wait for an excuse to wear that skirt.

Don’t you just love After-Christmas sales?!?!

note: The online price of the sequin skirt is WAY higher than what I paid.  I only paid $21.  It was marked down to $39.99 in the store.

Back at it

Well, we went back to school today…we knew it was coming so we faced the day wearing a combination of old and new pieces.  We both wore old favorites on the bottom.  Ramona is wearing her favorite Old Navy jeans and Karen has on her favorite olive green skinny pants from Gap.

Ramona got a gorgeous new blanket scarf for Christmas and it looks great with a pair of jeans.  What a way to dress up a classic look.

Karen is wearing her new Banana Republic sweater that she scored on sale plus an extra 50% off.  What you can’t see are the little golden threads woven through it.

Heading back to school after two weeks off wasn’t so bad when we looked so good. 😉

How did your first day back go?

New Year’s Day

It’s 2016!!  Did you all have fun ringing in the new year?  While I only got one photo (and a crummy one, at that), I’m so thrilled with the fringe tank I got at Banana Republic for 50% off.  I paired it with a pair of faux leather leggings from Loft.  I’m already planning on what other jeans/pants I can pair with it.

Now is a great time to get really good deals on tops/sweaters/dresses that can be worn for a special occasion or to jazz up a pair of jeans.  Right now Banana Republic has their holiday fashions on sale AND an extra 50% off.  I recently got a few other goodies that I can’t wait to share with you all.

Ramona’s Favorite Casual Looks of 2014

/home/wpcom/public_html/wp-content/blogs.dir/0e8/57153242/files/2014/12/img_7496.jpg

While I love dressing up just as much as the next girl, I’m most myself in casual clothes. Now, that’s not code word for sloppy. I believe you can absolutely look stylish and feel good about the way you look in a casual outfit.

My life as a preschool teacher lends itself to a more casual work look. Let’s face it, we are painting, making music and sitting on the floor for most of the day. I also assist in gym. It’s kind of hard to do that in a skirt.

My go to sources for trendy casual clothes that won’t break the bank are GAP, Old Navy, Target, Forever 21 and TJ Maxx. Their prices, sales and selection simply cannot be beat.

So, without further ado, I bring you my favorite casual looks of 2014…

I love this plaid shirt from Target. I get so many compliments on it. I almost always pair it with a fun statement necklace like this one from Wrist Soirée to dress it up. My Ugg boots are the ultimate in comfort and casual.

For the above look I paired a buffalo plaid shirt from Forever 21 and a jewels sweater from Loft with black skinny jeans and tall black boots.

I got this sweater from GAP last year and I’ve worn it to death. I’ve seen a similar one recycled at Old Navy this year. Here I wore it with jeans and my new wedge booties from TJ Maxx. I sometimes wear it with a blue and white gingham shirt underneath.

And for my final favorite casual look of 2014, I paired the unexpected, a really amazing statement necklace with a super casual look of Forever 21 sweatshirt, Old Navy skinny jeans and printed pointed teo flats from Banana Republic. I hope you enjoyed taking a peek into my favorite casual looks from the past year!

Sweater Weather

10-25-13 01510-25-13 018 10-25-13 017 10-25-13 016Although Ramona has been lucky enough to enjoy “sweater weather” in New York, here in Florida we’ve only been able to get away with it for the past few days – and only in the early morning.  I’ll take it!  I was so happy for the slightest hint of fall, that I donned my new Old Navy owl sweater.  I paired it with my camo pants…I jump at the chance to wear them, as I cannot wear them to school, even on a casual Friday.  There’s casual, then there’s inappropriate.  I do not want to cross that line.

Look at Ramona looking as stylish as ever as she boldly rocks a men’s J.Crew sweater!  Now I’ve got a whole new section to look in when I hit the J. Crew store. Who would’ve thought?!?!  Don’t you love her feminine touch she gives this with her cute zebra flats and statement necklace?  And the crisp white button-down completes this fun look.  Here’s hoping we have many more sweater days ahead of us!

Even though we talk almost every day, Ramona and I don’t really discuss what we will be wearing the following day.  We got a little kick out of the fact that we both were wearing blouses with bows on it yesterday.  It gave us the perfect topic for the blog today.  We both love accessorizing with fun, colorful necklaces but sometimes you just don’t need one to make a fashion statement.  Look at Ramona’s outfit…it’s fun, classy and oh-so-stylish.  All she needed was a beautiful shirt and a fun pair of flats to pull this look together.

I’m wearing a blouse that I bought at Loft several years ago.  Every time I go through my closet to weed things out, I always pick this up, then put it right back.  I love that I’ve had it for years and that I can wear it with different things to achieve different looks.  I’ve never worn it with this skirt before and I love how it looks so “put together”.

Here are a few of some more lovely bow blouses that we think would look great in the classroom.
